FTSE Futures Morning Update on 21 August

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures are trading at 7,290.20 with a loss of -0.33% percent or -24.30 point. The CAC 40 Futures are trading at 5,097.00 with a loss of -0.15% percent or -7.50 point . The DAX Futures are trading at 12,122.80 with a loss of -0.32% percent or -38.70 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures are trading at 3,434.0 with a loss of -0.15% percent or -5.0 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London’s FTSE 100 index fell below a key technical level as Friday’s session wore on, with travel stocks leading the retreat after the terror attacks in Barcelona and the large cabal of overseas focused companies hit by the dollar’s weakness amid renewed concerns about the US Presidency.

By the close on Friday, the blue chip benchmark was down just over 60 points or 0.86% to 7,327.98. Over in Europe, it was pretty much the same picture with the DAX down 0.29% to 12,165.19, the CAC 40 lower 0.64% to 5,114.15 and the IBEX 35 in the red by 0.52% to 10,389.40.

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,323.98 with a loss of – 0.86% percent or –63.89 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,114.15 with 0.00% percent or 0.00 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 12,165.19 with a loss of –0.31% percent or –38.27 point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow are trading at 21,674.51 with a loss of –0.35% percent or –76.22 point. The S&P 500 are trading at 2,425.55 with a loss of – 0.18% percent or –4.46 point. The Nasdaq Composite are trading at 6,216.53 with a loss of –0.09% percent or –5.39 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 19,393.13 with a loss of –0.40% percent or –77.28 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 27,164.04 for up with +0.43% percent or  +116.47 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,283.98 for up with  +0.47% percent or +15.26 point. India’s S&P BSE Sensex are trading at 31,441.14 with a loss of –0.26% percent or –83.54 point at 12:15 PM .
