FTSE Futures Morning Update on 30 June 2017


The FTSE 100 Futures are trading at 7,282.50 with a loss of -0.08% percent or -6.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures are trading at 5,156.5 for up with +0.31% percent or +18.5 point . The DAX Futures are trading at 12,427.80 for up  with +0.15% percent or +18.20 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures are trading at 3,464.0 for up with +0.26% percent or +9.0  point.


The advance in European equities buckled as investors continued to push government bond yields higher on the back of recent more hawkish comments from top officials at various central banks around the world.

At the closing bell, the benchmark Stoxx 600 was down by 1.34% or 5.16 points to 380.66, alongside a drop of 1.76% for the Dax to 12,424.54, a decline for the Cac-40 of 1.88% or 98.55 points to 5,154.35.

In parallel, the yield on the benchmark 10-year German government bond was higher by eight basis points to 0.45% and near its 2016 highs, while those on two-year German notes gained two basis points to close at -0.56%.

Only two sector indices from the Stoxx 600 ended on the up, goosed by that central bank talk, Banks (0.56%) and Basic Resources (0.28%).

At the bottom of the pile were: Food and Beverages (-1.91%), Healthcare (-2.05%), Construction (-2.11%), Personal and Household goods (-2.45%) and Technology (-2.87%).


For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,350.32 with a loss of –0.51% percent or –37.48 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,154.35 with a loss of -1.88% percent or  -98.55 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 12,416.19 with a loss of –1.83% percent or –231.08 point.


For the day the Dow are trading at 21,287.03 with a loss of  –0.78% percent or –167.58 point. The S&P 500 are trading at 2,419.70  with a loss of  –0.86% percent or –20.99 point. The Nasdaq Composite are trading at 6,144.35 with  a loss of   –1.44% percent or  –90.06 point .

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 20,033.43 with a loss of  –0.92% percent or –186.87 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 25,795.97 with a loss of – 0.65% percent or –169.45 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,191.84 for up with +0.12% percent or +3.78 point. India’s S&P BSE Sensex are trading at 30,848.65 with 0.00% percent or 15.00 point at 12:26 PM .
