FTSE Futures Updates

Despite retreating from early peaks, the U.K.’s FTSE 100 continues to exhibit positive performance just before noon on Monday, buoyed by stocks in the mining and financial sectors. The FTSE 100, having risen to 9,593.05 in early trades, recorded an increase of 8.69 points or 0.09% at 9,548.40 just before noon.

The mining giant has confirmed that it engaged in preliminary discussions with rival miner Anglo American; however, it has now stated that it is “no longer considering a combination of the two companies.” The shares of the latter experienced an increase of half a percent. Where as –

  • The Sage Group has experienced an increase of approximately 2%.
  • BHP Group has increased by nearly 1%.
  • Endeavour Mining has experienced an increase of 3.3%. Fresnillo has experienced an
    increase of 3%, Glencore has risen by 1.85%, and Antofagasta has seen a gain of 1%.

Intercontinental Hotels Group, Entain, Pershing Square Holdings, Easyjet, IAG, Barclays Group, WPP, St. James’s Place, LSEG, Persimmon, ICG, Barratt Redrow, JD Sports Fashion, Games Workshop, and Whitbread are all experiencing notable increases in their valuations.
