TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS
London stocks were set to fall at the open on Thursday as investors digested news of a Brexit extension to the end of October.
The FTSE 100 was called to open 23 points lower at 7,398.
Despite Prime Minister Theresa May’s request for an extension until 30th June, the EU agreed late on Wednesday to extend Article 50 until 31st October, with a review on progress in June.
London Capital Group analyst Jasper Lawler pointed out that the pound hardly flinched against the euro or the dollar, with the currency starting to look “rather numb” to all the Brexit drama.
