FTSE Futures Morning Update on 09 January 2019

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 6,858.20 up with +0.59% percent or +40.20 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 4,811.50  up with +0.55% percent or +26.50 point. The DAX Futures is trading at 10,902.50 up with +0.79% percent or +85.00 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,067.50 up with +0.52% percent or +16.00  point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

 London stocks recouped more of last month’s losses on Tuesday, underpinned by optimism over US-China trade talks, rumours of a delay to the Brexit date and bargain hunting by investors.

Lifting the mood in the background was reports of a productive round of talks between Chinese and US officials in Beijing, with a US trade delegation member saying talks had gone well and are set to continue on Wednesday. Follow-up cabinet-level talks are also expected later in January.

For the day the Dow is trading at 23,787.45  up with  +1.09% percent or +256.10 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,574.41  up with +0.97% percent or +24.72 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at +6,897.00 up with +1.08% percent or +73.53 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 20,427.06 up with +1.10% percent or +223.02 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 26,446.32  up with +2.21% percent or +570.87 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,544.34 up with +0.71% percent or  +17.88 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 36,173.73 up with +0.54% percent or +192.80 point at 12:15 PM.
