FTSE Futures Morning Update on 25 October

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 6,892.20  with a loss of -0.70% percent or -48.80 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 4,931.20 with a loss of  -0.37% percent or -18.30 point The DAX Futures is trading at 11,101.50   with -0.67% percent or -75.00 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,108.00  with a loss of  -0.42% percent or -13.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

the FTSE 100 was up 0.11% to 6,962.98, having fallen 1.24% the day before. Meanwhile, the pound was trading at a six-week low and down 0.67% against the dollar at 1.28962, as the Greenback continued to gain altitude on the back of hawkish comments from Atlanta Federal chief, Raphael Bostic, on Tuesday.

Bostic warned of the risks of allowing the American economy too run too “hot”, arguing instead for a continued gradual pace of rate hike

Versus the euro, Sterling was essentially flat against at 1.1323, despite the prospect of a no-deal Brexit and jitters ahead of Prime Minister Theresa May’s appearance later before the so-called 1922 Committee.

For the day the Dow is trading at 24,583.42 with  a loss of -2.41% percent or  -608.01 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,656.10 with a loss of  -3.09% percent or -84.59 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,108.40 with a loss of -4.43% percent or -329.14 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,268.73 with a loss of -3.72% percent or -822.45 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 24,827.04 with a loss of -1.67% percent or -422.74 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,601.11  with a loss of -0.084% percent or  -2.19 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 33,678.52  with a loss of -1.04% percent or -355.44 point at 12:15 PM.
