FTSE Futures Morning Update on 06 March

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures are trading at 7,160.50 for up  with +1.28% percent or  +90.50 point. The CAC 40 Futures are trading at 5,199.00 for up  with +1.25% percent or +64.00 point . The DAX Futures are trading at 12,241.50 for up with +1.12% percent or +135.00 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures are trading at 3,382.00  for up with +0.68% percent or +23.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London stocks were set for a firmer open on Tuesday, taking their cue from an upbeat session on Wall Street.

The FTSE 100 was called to open 29 points higher at 7,145.

London Capital Group analyst Jasper Lawler said: “Wall Street finally snapped a four-day losing streak on Monday, although the exact reason behind the return of risk appetite was difficult to pinpoint.

“Fears over a trade war eased in the overnight session, possibly thanks to relatively little interest by China in retaliating against the US, at least for the time being. Or possibly because the US Republicans may try to block Trump’s trade tariffs, for fear of what implementing them could do to the US economy. A third reason that market concerns dropped down a gear, could be thanks to President Trump showing potential for flexibility surrounding the steel and aluminium tariffs by linking them to NAFTA agreement negotiations. However, opening the way to exceptions for the likes of Mexico and Canada could in itself open a whole can of worms with the WTO.

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,178.69 for up with +62.71 percent or +0.88% point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,167.23  for up with +0.60% percent or +30.65 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 12,090.87 for up with +1.49% percent or  177.16  point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow are trading at 24,874.76 for up with +1.37% percent or +336.70 point. The S&P 500 are trading at 2,720.94  for up with +1.10% percent or  +29.69 point. The Nasdaq Composite are trading at 7,330.70  for up with +1.00% percent or +72.84 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 21,417.76  for up with +1.79% percent or  +375.67 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 30,527.34   for up with +2.14% percent or +640.95 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,289.64 for up  with  +1.00% percent or +32.72 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 33,841.92 for up with +0.28% percent or  +95.14  point at 12:15 PM.
