FTSE Futures Morning Update on 18 June. 2020

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 6,161.50 with a loss of -1.47% percent or -92.00  point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 4,936.00 with a loss of -0.31% percent or -15.50 point. The DAX Futures is trading at 12,267.80  with a loss of -1.34% or -47.70 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,216.00 with a loss of -1.44%percent or –47.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London stocks managed to stay positive by the close Wednesday as investors brushed aside the latest UK inflation figures and worries about a spike in Covid-19 infections in Beijing, with SSE pacing the gains after results.

The FTSE 100 ended the session up 0.17% at 6,253.25, and the FTSE 250 was 0.67% firmer at 17,582.36.

Sterling was in a mixed state against its major trading pairs, last falling 0.37% against the dollar to $1.2526, but eking out gains of 0.01% on the euro to €1.1163.

YESTERDAY ACTIVITY

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 6,253.25 up with +0.17% percent or +10.46  point. France’s CAC  40 closed at 4,995.97 up with +0.88% percent or +43.52  point.Germany’s DAX closed at 12,382.14 up with +0.54% percent or +66.48 point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow is trading at 26,119.61 with a loss of -0.65% percent or ?170.37 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 3,113.49 with a loss of –0.36% percent or ?11.25 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 9,910.53 up with +0.15% percent or +14.66  point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at at 22,355.46  with a loss of –0.45% percent or –100.30  point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 24,435.95 with a loss of –0.19% percent or –45.46 point. China’s Shanghai  Composite is trading at 2,939.24  up with +0.11% percent or +3.37point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 33,766.79 up with +0.77% percent or +258.87  point at 12:15 PM.
