FTSE Futures Morning Update on 30 March. 2020

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 5,396.50  with a loss of -1.27% percent or -69.50 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 4,282.00 with a loss of -1.42% percent or -61.50 point. The DAX Futures is trading at 9,509.50  with a loss of -0.12% percent or -11.30 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 2,634.00 with a loss of -0.75% percent or -20.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

Asian shares slipped on Monday and oil prices took another tumble as fears mounted that the global shutdown for the coronavirus could last for months, doing untold harm to economies despite central banks’ best efforts.

“We continue to mark down 1H20 global GDP forecasts as our assessment of both the global pandemic’s reach and the damage related to necessary containment policies has increased,” said JPMorgan (NYSE:JPM) economist Bruce Kasman.

YESTERDAY ACTIVITY

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 5,412.02 with a loss of –1.78% percent or ?98.31 point. France’s CAC  40 closed at 4,295.24 with a loss of –1.29% percent or ?56.24 point.Germany’s DAX closed at 9,577.29 with a loss of -0.57% percent or –55.23  point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow is trading at 21,636.78 with a loss of –4.06% percent or ?915.39 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,541.47 with  a loss of –3.37% percent or ?88.60 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,502.38 with a loss of –3.79% percent or –295.16 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 19,084.97 with a loss of –1.57% percent or –304.46 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 23,173.01  with a loss of –1.33%percent or  ?311.27 point. China’s Shanghai  Composite is trading at 2,747.21 with a loss of –0.90% percent or ?24.99 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 28,809.39  with  a loss of –3.37% percent or –1,006.20 point at 12:15 PM.
