FTSE Futures Morning Update on 19 March. 2020

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 5,080.20  with a loss of -0.09% percent or -4.80 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 3,741.00  with  a loss of -6.19% percent or –247.00 point. The DAX Futures is trading at 8,536.80 up with +0.72% percent or +60.80 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 2,340.00 with a loss of -2.05% percent or -49.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

 London stocks maintained their negative distance with the previous session’s close through Wednesday afternoon, with a string of dividend suspensions on the back of the coronavirus giving investors little to smile about.

The FTSE 100 ended the session down 4.05% at 5,080.58, and the FTSE 250 was 6.58% weaker at 13,008.19.

Sterling continued its slide against its major trading pairs, and was last down 4.18% against the dollar at $1.1551 to reach its worst level in decades, while losing 2.36% against the euro at €1.0702.

YESTERDAY ACTIVITY

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 5,080.58 with a loss of –4.05% percent or –214.32 point. France’s CAC  40 closed at 3,754.84 with a loss of –5.94% percent or –236.93 point.Germany’s DAX closed at 8,441.71  with a loss of –5.56% percent or –497.39  point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow is trading at 19,898.92  with a loss of –6.30% percent or –1,338.46 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,398.10 with a loss of –5.18% percent or –131.09  point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 6,989.84 with a loss of –4.70% percent or –344.94  point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 16,552.83 with a loss of –1.04% percent or –173.72 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 21,794.14 with a loss of –2.23% percent or –497.68 point. China’s Shanghai  Composite is trading at 2,702.13 with a loss of –0.98% percent or ??26.63 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 27,972.29  with a loss of –3.11% percent or –897.22 point at 12:15 PM.
