The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,057.00  with a loss of  -0.30% percent or -21.50 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,014.00  with a loss of -0.51% percent or -25.50 point The DAX Futures is trading at 11,399.50  with a loss of -0.62% percent or -71.00  point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,195.00  with a loss of -0.65% percent or -21.00  point.


At the G20 summit over the weekend, US President Trump and China’s Xi Jinping said they would put off the introduction of any further tariffs for the time being as they attempt to settle their differences through talks.

Washington pledged to hold fire on raising tariffs on $200bn worth of Chinese goods from 10% to 25%, as had been planned for 1 January. Meanwhile, China said it was willing to buy a “very substantial” amount of agriculture, energy and other goods from the US to reduce the trade imbalance.


For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,062.41 up with  +1.18% percent or +82.17 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,053.98 up with +1.00% percent or +50.07 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 11,465.46  up with +1.85% percent or  +208.22 point.


For the day the Dow is trading at 25,826.43  up with +1.13% percent or +287.97 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,790.37 up  with +1.09% percent or +30.20 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,441.51  up with +1.51% percent or +110.98 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,036.05 with a loss of -2.39% percent or -538.71 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 27,169.57   with  a loss of -0.046% percent or -12.47 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,665.96 up with +0.42%  percent or  +11.16 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 36,065.91  with a loss of  -0.47% percent or -170.81 point at 12:15 PM.
