FTSE Futures Morning Update on 15 November

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,067.80 up with  +0.78% percent or +54.80 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,059.50 with a loss of -0.18% percent or -9.00 point The DAX Futures is trading at 11,417.50 up with +0.16% percent or +18.50 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,197.00  with 0.00% percent or 0.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

Sterling initially was slightly higher after Theresa May announced overnight that her cabinet had signed off on her Brexit deal. However, the currency tumbled on Thursday morning, trading down 0.8% against the dollar at 1.2892 and 0.9% lower versus the euro at 1.1385 as two ministers resigned and a swirl of reports that Brexiters were plotting to force a vote of no confidence.

Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab and junior Northern Ireland Office minister Shailesh Vara both announced they were resigning over the deal. Raab said that he “cannot in good conscience support the terms proposed for our deal with the EU” as he tweeted his letter of resignation to the PM.

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,080.50 with a loss of –0.81% percent or  –205.99 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,701.58 with a loss of –0.76% percent or –20.60 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,136.39  with a loss of –0.90% percent or –64.48   point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,803.62  with a loss of –0.20% percent or –42.86 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 26,103.34  up with +1.75% percent or +448.91 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,668.17 up with + 1.36% percent or  +35.93 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 35,273.10 up with +0.37% percent or +131.11 point at 12:15 PM.
