FTSE Futures Morning Update on 01 November

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,061.00 with a loss of -0.70% percent or -50.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,073.00 up with +1.96% percent or +97.50 point The DAX Futures is trading at 11,410.50 with a loss of -0.86% percent or +47.00 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,178.00 with a loss of -0.50% percent or -16.00 point.


The FTSE 100 was up 1.31% or 92.25 points to 7,128.10, clawing back recent losses to reach its best levels in three weeks – but still on track for a monthly drop of around 6%. Sterling was up 0.46% against the dollar to 1.27644 and by 0.77% versus the euro at 1.1287.

The rebound in shares could well be down to some end-of-month position adjusting by institutional investors, said market analyst Michael Hewson at CMC Markets, though he also pointed to some indications in the past few days that the market might have found a “short-term base, with most of the bad news already priced in to some extent”.


For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,128.10 up with +1.31% percent or +92.25 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,093.44 up with +2.31% percent or  +114.92 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 11,447.51  up with +1.42% percent or  +160.12 point.


For the day the Dow is trading at 25,115.76  up with +0.97% percent or  +241.12 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,682.632,711.74 up with +1.09% percent or +29.11 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,305.90 up with +2.01% percent or +144.25 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,687.65  with a loss of -1.06% percent or -232.81 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 25,367.67 up with +1.55% percent or +387.98 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,606.24 up  with +0.13% percent or  +3.45 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 34,380.02 with a loss of -0.18% percent or -62.03 point at 12:15 PM.
