FTSE Futures Morning Update on 06 April

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures are trading at 7,116.50  with a loss of -0.08% percent or -5.50 point. The CAC 40 Futures are trading at 5,251.50  with a loss of -0.26% percent or -13.50 point . The DAX Futures are trading at 12,249.00  with a loss of -0.64% percent or -79.00 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures are trading at 3,331.00 with a loss of -0.51%  percent or -17.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London stocks were set to drop at the open on Friday after US President Donald Trump said he would slap $100bn more tariffs on China.

The FTSE 100 was called to open down 39 points at 7,160.

After the close of US markets on Thursday, Trump said in a statement that the further tariffs were being considered “in light of China’s unfair retaliation”.

London Capital Group analyst Jasper Lawler said Trump’s announcement ended any hopes of an amicable conclusion to the escalating trade tensions between the US and China.

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,188.28   with a loss of  -0.16% percent or  -11.22 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,256.90  with a loss of -0.37% percent or -19.76 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 12,234.95   with a loss of -0.57% percent or -70.24 point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow are trading at 24,505.22 for up with +0.99% percent or +240.92 point. The S&P 500 are trading at 2,662.84 for up with +0.69% percent or +18.15 point. The Nasdaq Composite are trading at 7,076.55 for up with  +0.49% percent or +34.44 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 21,567.52   with a loss of -0.36% percent or  -77.90 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 29,837.84 for up  with +1.08% percent or +319.15 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,131.11  with a loss of -0.18% percent or  -5.52 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 33,599.66 for up with +0.01% percent or  +2.86 point at 12:15 PM.
