FTSE Futures Morning Update on 17 January

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures are trading at 7,677.50 for up with +0.18% percent or +13.70 point. The CAC 40 Futures are trading at 5,490.50  for up with +0.25%  percent or +13.50  point . The DAX Futures are trading at 13,178.80 for up with +0.15% percent or +19.30 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures are trading at 3,597.00 for up with +0.28% percent or +10.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

The FTSE 100 closed down 0.2% to 7,755.93 though the mid-cap FTSE 250 index gained 0.2% to 20,877.30. The pound recouped earlier losses against the dollar to sink just 0.1%against the greenback at 1.3779 and climbed 0.1% versus the euro to 1.126.

Earlier, the consumer price index for December was revealed by the Office for National Statistics to have dropped back to an annual rate of 3.0% from 3.1% a month earlier, as forecast by economists. On a monthly basis, CPI rose 0.4%, as expected, after a 0.3% increase a month earlier.

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,755.93   with a loss of  -0.17% percent or  -13.21 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,513.82 for up with +0.08% percent or  +4.14 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 13,246.33 for up with +0.35% percent or  +45.82 point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow are trading at 25,792.86 with a loss of -0.04%percent or  -10.33 point. The S&P 500 are trading at 2,776.42  with a loss of  -0.35%  percent or -9.82 point. The Nasdaq Composite are trading at 7,223.69  with a loss of  -0.51% percent or  -37.38 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 23,868.34 with a loss of -0.35% percent or -83.47 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 31,873.10  with a loss of -0.10% percent or -31.65 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,444.67  for up with +0.24% percent or +8.08 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 34,946.35 for up with +0.50% percent or +175.30 point at 12:15 PM.
