FTSE Futures Morning Update on 27 October


The FTSE 100 Futures are trading at 7,481.20 for up with +0.22% percent or +16.70 point. The CAC 40 Futures are trading at 5,483.5 for up with +0.60% percent or +32.2 point . The DAX Futures are trading at 13,226.20 for up with +0.69% percent or +90.20 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures are trading at 3,655.0 for up with +0.61% percent or +22.0 point.


London equity markets were set to nudge higher at the open on Friday, with sentiment underpinned by some well-received results from tech companies in the US.

The FTSE 100 was expected to open five points higher at 7,491.

CMC Markets analyst David Madden said: “US stocks finished on a high note as solid earnings from Twitter and Ford helped the bullish sentiment. Tech giants Alphabet, Microsoft and Amazon reported figures after the closing bell in New York. All the companies posted earnings that were ahead of analysts’ expectations, and the stocks all jumped in post-market trading.”

Investors will also continue to keep a watchful eye on Catalonia as the Spanish Senate is expected to vote to impose direct rule on the region.



For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,508.69 for up with +0.31% percent or +22.93 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,485.93 for up with +0.56% percent or +30.54 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 13,216.32 for up with +0.63% percent or +83.04 point.


For the day the Dow are trading at 23,400.86 for up with +0.31% percent or +71.40 point. The S&P 500 are trading at 2,560.40 for up with +0.13% percent or +3.25 point. The Nasdaq Composite are trading at 6,556.77 with a loss of –0.11% percent or –7.12 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 22,008.45 for up with +1.24% percent or +268.67 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 28,421.56 for up with +0.78% percent or  +219.18 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,416.81 for up with +0.27% percent or  +9.25 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 33,222.21 for up with +0.23% percent or +75.08 point at 12:15 PM.
