FTSE Futures Morning Update on 21 July 2017

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures are trading at 7,417.50 with a loss of -0.23% percent or -17.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures are trading at 5,158.5 with  a loss of-0.74% percent or -37.5 point . The DAX Futures are trading at 12,335.80 with a loss of -0.69% percent or -86.20 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures are trading at 3,471.0 with a loss of -0.52% percent or  -19.0  point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London stocks were little changed in early trade on Friday as investors sifted through some corporate news and awaited the release of borrowing figures.

At 0840 BST, the FTSE 100 was flat at 7,489.77, while the pound was up 0.1% against the dollar and the euro at 1.2990 and 1.1156, respectively.

Ipek Ozkardeskaya, senior market analyst at London Capital Group, said: “Cable consolidates near the 1.30 level despite a softer US dollar. The UK’s encouraging retail sales data was not enough to brush away the Bank of England doves, who gained confidence after Tuesday’s soft inflation data.”

PREVIOUS DAY ACTIVITY

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,483.60 with a loss of –0.06% percent or –4.27 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,155.80 with a loss of –0.84% percent or – 43.42 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 12,328.82 with a loss of –0.95% percent or –118.43 point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow are trading at 21,611.78 with a loss of –0.13% percent or –28.97 point. The S&P 500 are trading at 2,473.45 with a loss of –0.02% percent or –0.38 point. The Nasdaq Composite are trading at 6,390.00 for up with of +0.08% percent or +4.96 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 20,099.75 with a loss of –0.22% percent or –44.84 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 26,706.09 with a loss of –0.13% percent or –34.12 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,237.98 with a loss of –0.21% percent or –6.88 point. India’s S&P BSE Sensex are trading at 32,028.89 for up with +0.39% percent or +124.49 point at 12:15 PM .
